Shooting & Lighting Your Artwork

Create a stunning first impression with professional looking images. Today, curators and gallerists most often view artwork initially as Jpeg images. Providing high quality digital photographs are essential to every artist’s career, while poor quality images can limit even the best artist.

In this 3-hour session, learn how to light and photograph your artwork for professional-level presentation. Instructor Al Fuchs will cover lighting and photography techniques for 2D work and sculpture. This will be a hands-on workshop with equipment and preparatory demonstrations. Participants are encouraged to bring an artwork of their own to photograph. The advantages of working digitally and the basics of preparing your digital files will be addressed.

Al Fuchs is the co-owner of Fuchs and Kasperek Inc. as well as www.artistsofcleveland.com. He works with many local artists and arts groups in preparing artwork for reproduction and presentation. Mr. Fuchs has decades of experience in photography, printing, and professional presentation.

Join us at the Artscraft Building on April 23rd, 6-9pm.

walk + roll coming to Old Brooklyn+Brooklyn Centre

Walk + Roll is coming to our neighborhood!

http://www.walkroll.com/specialevents

Walk+Roll encourages people to walk and bicycle in their daily lives by:

- Organizing human-powered neighborhood events that combine fun with active living, learning and participating.- Advocating with politicians and community leaders so that they consider cyclists and pedestrians in public policy.

- Promoting and encouraging biking and walking through press releases and outreach to the media.

Walking and cycling rather than driving - particularly for short distances - saves money, improves physical and emotional health, decreases smog which improves our living environment, improves neighborhood safety and encourages social interaction which builds community.

You can also find more information about the day on facebook.
Art House will be open for regular Free Family Open Studio hours from 1-3pm. Art House will be an official part of the day and a stop on both the Trolley & bicycle route. Stop by and make some bicycle and neighborhood friendly art!
